9 people die in nursing home fire in the village of Royak

Nine people have died in a fire at a nursing home in the village of Royak, Dalgopol Municipality, the mayor of Dalgopol Georgi Georgiev told the BNR. The fire started from an electric boiler and engulfed the roof of the building.

49 residents were evacuated and accommodated in a hotel. Five firefighting teams managed to extinguish the fire.

I would like to offer my sincere condolence to the families and the relatives of the deceased, Bulgaria’s caretaker Premier Stefan Yanev wrote on the social networks. He ordered an urgent inspection in similar social institutions.
