According to the idea of archaeologists from the Regional Museum of History in Varna, a mobile application providing rich information about the brothers Herman and Karel Škorpil, was created BTA reported. The app marks the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the Archaeological Society in Varna and is work of Petar Atanasov.

Apart from being referred to as guardians of the historical memory of this country, the two Czechs are also presented as scientists of encyclopedic knowledge who laid the foundations of various sciences in our country in the beginning of the 20th century. At their initiative, the Varna Archeological Society was established on December 12, 1901.

Among the founders were representatives of the intelligentsia, the administration, naval officers and the church. The then mayor of Varna was elected chairman and a place for the museum collection, accumulated previously with the help of the Škorpil brothers was provided. In the following years Karel Škorpil became chairman and because of his great merits he was re-elected even when he moved to Sofia.
