Only 8% of Bulgarians invest, 24% save up: survey

Only 8% of Bulgarians invest as compared to an average of 24% for the EU, and only 24% save up, indicates a survey by Trend sociological agency commissioned by Finance Academy, conducted among 1,005 adults, 3-10 December, 2024.  

84% of the respondents say they rely only on incomes from salaries and/or pensions. The survey indicates that Bulgarians are registering a slight improvement of their living standards compared to 2023, though the changes are minimal. 6% describe their standard living as high, 53% as average, 28% as low, 10% as very low, and 3% cannot say. 84% state they have no other income other than salary/pension, 45% use online banking. The majority of the respondents, 45% expect their standard of living to continue the same in 2025, and 28% - to improve.
