State of emergency declared in Smolyan district over torrential rains

A state of emergency was declared in the municipalities of Rudozem, Nedelino and Borino in Smolyan district. Rivers overflowed their banks and flooded some road sections after torrential rain lashed the region. A partial state of emergency was declared in the village of Trigrad, Devin Municipality, the correspondent of the BNR in Smolyan Radostina Chernokova informed.

More than 10 settlements in Smolyan district, including the villages of Yagodina, Byunovo and Kozhari, were left without electricity. The heavy rain caused closures of main roads of the national road network. No people were reported destitute. The situation in the municipality of Devin is also complicated. Vacha River overflowed its banks on Saturday night.
