Bulgaria’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev complained of an unprecedented pressure exerted on state prosecutors by structures of the Ministry of Interior. “A war is being waged against the Prosecutor’s Office”, Ivan Geshev said at a briefing on Sunday.
“We are to undertake the necessary legal actions to protect the magistrates and we will inform the National Assembly Speaker, Bulgaria’s President, this country’s Premier, the European Commission and the Embassies in Bulgaria about what is happening”, the Prosecutor’s Office notes in a declaration.
