Foreigners accused of spying in Bulgarian arms factory released on bail

Photo: library

The Plovdiv Court of Appeals released three foreigners detained on charges of espionage. They are former employees of the Arsenal weapons factory in Kazanlak. They were released from custody on 5,000 euros bail each.

The court shared the presumption that the acts were committed, but at the same time accepted that there was no danger that they would commit a crime if they were released on a lighter measure of restraint. The accused are two Russian citizens and one Lithuanian and their charges include illegal access to classified information and export of technological documents.
