Protests will take place in front of the court houses in Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv, Burgas and Stara Zagora against pedophilia and crimes against children.

The demands raised by the protesters include establishing a public register of pedophiles and harsher punishment for offenders. The protests were triggered by two recent high-profile cases. The first involves systemic abuse and violence by a stepfather, Petar Chernev, against 5-year old Adrian in Plovdiv. The child was in so much pain that he was begging to be killed but the stepfather was sentenced to only 8 years of imprisonment. The second case involves a group of pedophiles found to have been creating, selling and sharing pornographic content involving violence against children, the youngest of whom a 2-month old baby.
