25% coronavirus positivity rate in Bulgaria in past day

5,875 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 23,429 tests performed, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data indicate. 25% of the tests have returned positive result. 76% of the new cases are among the unvaccinated. The highest number of new infections was reported in Sofia-1,523, followed by Burgas-758 and Varna-643.

5,684 patients are being treated in hospital, as 513 of them are in intensive care units. More than 81% of the newly admitted patients are unvaccinated. 33 people with established coronavirus infection have died. None of them was immunized against Covid-19. 899 people have been reported cured in the past day. The number of active cases reached 238,955.

3,468 vaccines were administered on Saturday. 1.992,848 is the number of people with completed immunization. 605,792 have had a booster shot.
