Bulgaria reports 2,125 new Covid-19 infections, 72 deaths

2,125 is the number of Covid-19 cases registered in the country out of 19,561 tests performed in the past day, a positivity rate of 11%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. 72% of the new infections are among the unvaccinated.

The highest number of new infections is in Sofia - 491, in Varna – 275, and in Plovdiv – 172. 

3,155 patients are being treated in hospital, 420 of them in intensive care. 80% of the 351 new hospital admissions are among the unvaccinated.

74 have died in the past day, 92% of them were not vaccinated. 3,207 is the number of recoveries. 211,634 is the number of active cases in Bulgaria.

3,448 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 have been administered in the past day. 2,048,538 is the number of people with a completed cycle of vaccination in the country, 693,913 have taken a booster dose.
