The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) confirmed that it had received several reports from Bulgaria with serious allegations of “fraud with EU funds and systemic corruption, involving top officials.” Investigations are ongoing, and no further details will be released in order not to endanger their outcome, Laura Kövesi’s office said.

If any additional information can be made public, this will be done through a position paper from the EPPO
