For the first time in Bulgaria, a snow volleyball tournament is to be held on Perelik peak in the Rhodopes. The matches, which will take place on 2 and 3 April, will depend on weather conditions which are impossible to forecast.

Four men’s and four women’s teams will take part in this first tournament of its kind. The teams are formed not on a club but on a city principle, the men’s teams being from Rudozem, Smolyan, as well as two teams from Pleven. The women’s teams are from Smolyan, Pleven, Varna and Plovdiv.

All competitors have medical certificates. The first snow volleyball champions of Bulgaria will be announced on Sunday night.
