A day of open doors has been held at the Bulgarian National Bank. In addition to getting acquainted with the history of the institution and seeing its various collections, visitors had the opportunity to receive a souvenir banknote with their own image.

The bank’s building is a cultural monument of national importance, a true masterpiece of modern architecture of its time. It is impressive with its modern design and at the entrance of the money hall one can see bronze lions, which represent the main sectors of the Bulgarian economy - agriculture, trade, rose production and industry. The stained glass windows with exquisite images show a number of key events and personalities from Bulgarian history. The halls and offices in the bank are decorated with part of the rich heritage of masterpieces of fine arts that are part of the bank’s museum collection.
