The coach of the national football team of Bulgaria Yasen Petrov announced he would be resigning after the Bulgarian team lost to Georgia by 2-5 at home. The match, played in Razgrad, was the second match from the Nations League's Group 4 of Division C.

“I would like to thank all people who came. They did not deserve what happened. I have no moral right to stay. We shall part ways. I take full responsibility. I hope another coach will come along who will be able to get the players to their feet and change the situation. I apologize to everyone who watched this production,” Yasen Petrov said.

Georgi Ivanov, who is technical director of the Bulgarian Football Union, will coach the national team for its next two matches from the tournament – the away matches in Gibraltar and Georgia.
