The Covid-19 incidence rate in the country has risen to 82.5 per 100,000 population on a two-week basis, the National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases has announced.

The regions of Varna, Burgas and Sofia-city are in the yellow incidence rate zone. The remaining regions are in the green zone. According to the Covid-related hospital bed occupancy indicator, all regions in the country are at the lowest stage – zero.

“Due to the increasing number of infections, the minister of health should mandate a return to mask-wearing in hospitals and on public transport, at least in the regions where there is a yellow code for coronavirus,” Dr. Alexander Simidchiev, MP from Democratic Bulgaria said for NOVA NEWS.
