An intermodal terminal is to be built in Ruse by the end of 2025, the Railway Infrastructure National company has announced.
The start is expected to be given to the project, worth EUR 26.59 million, at the beginning of next year. According to analysts, initially it will be able to process around 60,000 containers a year, and by 2045 the facility’s capacity can be doubled. The terminal will help increase freight transport significantly and avoid the congestion at Ruse's Danube Bridge border check point.
