The Spanish troupe La Tuna is to visit the town of Plovdiv at the invitation of Plovdiv Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov. They are to give a free of charge concert tonight in the Ancient Theatre downtown Plovdiv. The concert will be preceded by a special march on the Main Street under the romantic sound of their guitars. The Spanish musicians visit Bulgaria for the third time. They grabbed the hearts of the audience on their first visit in 2017.

The tradition originated with students known as sopa (or Sopa) or students of humble origin who used music to get a bowl of soup in inns or taverns.
