Presidential consultations: We must make efforts to calm the public, representatives of "Democratic Bulgaria" say

The third government-forming mandate should be used to calm the public, focus on people's problems and their solution and restore a stable parliamentary majority, representatives of “Democratic Bulgaria” said during the consultations with President Rumen Radev on forming a new cabinet with the third exploratory cabinet-forming mandate.

"There is no guarantee that a new cycle of elections will result in a different parliament. A worsening of the political environment is possible, because the election campaign will be polarized," said Hristo Ivanov, Co-chairperson of "Democratic Bulgaria".

"We view this mandate as a crisis mandate, a mandate of dialogue. Whoever is responsible to form a cabinet will have the task to find convergence and be a mediator", Hristo Ivanov noted. "Democratic Bulgaria" will rely on dialogue if it becomes part of the government.

According to "Democratic Bulgaria", the political class in Bulgaria has recently been drawing endless red lines without offering solutions. "Democratic Bulgaria" contends that there must be dialogue within the framework of the collapsed quadrilateral coalition and that the parties must draw serious conclusions from its collapse. According to "Democratic Bulgaria", the construction and balance of the coalition must change. The political leaders should step aside. The former status quo should stay out of the new government, representatives of "Democratic Bulgaria" contend.
