Almost half of young people in Bulgaria lack basic secondary school skills

47.9% of young people in this country, aged 15 to 24, or over 315,000 lack basic secondary school skills, show data of the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

Another 44.5% in the same age bracket, or more than 292,000, lack the digital skills needed in the modern world. According to Eurostat data from last year, 14% of young people in this country are living outside the employment, education or training system, while a Ministry of Education study shows that last year 120,000 children of school age are at risk of dropping out of the education system.
