Bulgargaz gas operator has published the amounts of natural gas it needs, month by month, in accordance with the decision of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. The announcement shows that the operator has gas for September and October, but is looking for 843,848.179 MWh for November and December, and is asking traders with available quantities of natural gas to make their offers to the company.

At a meeting of the EU’s energy ministers today, the member countries agreed on a 15% voluntary reduction in gas consumption as of 1 August, 2022 up until end-March, 2023. Bulgaria’s Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov did not attend the meeting, public service TV BNT reports. The country was represented by Bulgaria’s permanent representative to the EU instead.

Earlier, Bulgaria declared it supported the EU plan for a 15% reduction in natural gas consumption and would not request a derogation.
