The Bulgarian group wins gold in the balls and ribbons final at World Championship in Sofia

The Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics group has won two gold medals at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Sofia. Zhenina Trashlieva, Rachel Stoyanov, Sofia Ivanova, Margarita Vasileva, Kamelia Petrova and Radina Tomova, who have been training together for about 4 months and are debutants at the championship, took the title in the all-around and in the final with three ribbons and two balls.
For their coach Vesela Dimitrova, this is the first gold from the World Championship in her career.
The president of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Iliana Raeva, admitted that after the sudden illness of Boryana Kaleyn, she did not expect the Bulgarian athletes to win six medals and two Olympic quotas in the World Championship.
