Today marks the 50th anniversary of Yordanka Blagoeva's world record in the high jump. The achievement of 24 September 1972 is the first world record for Bulgarian athletics. In Zagreb, Croatia, the Bulgarian athlete jumped 194 cm, crossing the bar with a belly roll.
