A group of 23 illegal migrants, citizens of Syria and Iraq, were detained by the law enforcement authorities in the area of the village of Rakitnitsa near Stara Zagora. The migrants were transported in a bus with Polish registration.

The traffickers are Ukrainian citizens, both 20 years old. The arrest happened after yet another dangerous police chase on the highway and in populated areas after the driver did not stop when officers signaled him to do so. During the chase, the driver lost control of the vehicle and finally stopped.

Earlier today, 12 migrants from Syria were detained in Sofia in a vehicle with Serbian registration plates.
