Bulgarians in Bulgaria and around the world celebrate Christmas

"May today's holy day bring health, hope and warmth to every Bulgarian family. May faith in goodness give us the strength to continue fighting together for the just causes of our people, for a peaceful and happy future for the children of Bulgaria!" 

This is the Christmas message Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev sent to all Bulgarians on his Facebook page.

This morning, a solemn Christmas liturgy was served in the Patriarchal Church of St. Alexander Nevsky in Sofia. It was conducted by the Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church Neophyte.

Bulgarians around the world also celebrate Christmas in the Bulgarian tradition. Among them are the children from six US states who took part in the project of the Association of Bulgarian Schools in America /ABSA/ "Let's ignite the Christmas spirit together". These are the students of the Bulgarian schools "Patilansko tsarstvo" - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, "Children like the Sun" - Connecticut, "Elin Pelin" - Austin, Texas branch, "Constantine - Cyril the Philosopher" - Atlanta, Georgia, "Homeland" - New Jersey, The Bulgarian School in Seattle, Washington.

On Christmas eve, the students of the Paisius Hilendarski Sunday School in Athens presented a festive performance in the hall of the New Star Art Cinema.
