Bulgarian Army struggles to recruit soldiers

Photo: library

The Logistic Support Command of the Bulgarian Army needs to recruit 280 people. The Ground Forces and the Joint Special Operations Command are also looking for military personnel - 255 and 30 people, respectively. At the beginning of 2023, the army continues to look for military personnel.

Professional military personnel in Bulgaria have bonuses such as special training, housing, etc., but over the years this has not attracted many people to the military profession. According to the 2021 State of Defense report, the military shortage is highest in the Ground Forces, which has negative impact on combat readiness.
