Bulgaria and Serbia will work for improving connectivity between the two countries. Next week, a working group between the two countries starts preparations for the development of a project for a second cross-border railway connection, as well as for the construction of two intermodal terminals in Serbia and Bulgaria. This became clear at a meeting between Bulgarian Minister of Transport Hristo Aleksiev and the Minister of Transport of Serbia Goran Vesic in Pirot, Serbia.
Minister Aleksiev pointed out that with the suspension of railroad traffic between Serbia and Bulgaria for more than 20 days after the accident in December near Pirot, the need for a new rail connection became clear. Alexiev pointed out that the construction of an alternative railway route between the two countries would contribute to better international railway traffic.
