When do you sing? Is it when you feel good?... Kalin Veliov and Maria Avramidi Kalin Veliov & Maria Avramidi sing even when they don't feel good.
This is how their song "When I Sing" begins. But this is not their first joint title. The two artists have been brought together by the music project "AMAZONIA" - the Brazilian Latin dance group of which Kalin Veliov is the producer. Apart from the Greek presence of Maria, the international line-up of AMAZONIA is complemented by Latin music artists from Brazil, Argentina, Angola and Nigeria.
Another popular musician is featured in "When I Sing" – in the recording of the song and inthe shooting of the video we can also see bass player Boris Taslev, known mainly from the Bulgarian jazz scene, currently also part of the Folk Music Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio. All other musical instruments in "When I Sing" were recorded by Kalin Velov, who is the author of the music, text and arrangement of the song.
A percussionist, drummer, singer, songwriter and producer, Kalin made his first stage appearance when he was 10 years old as the drummer of the children's band "Pim-Pam" conducted by Boris Karadimchev. After graduating from the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music School and the National Music Academy in Sofia, his love for Latin music took him to the Conservatory in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where he studied Latin music with world-famous names.
Two faces – the debut album of Kalin Veliov
Kalin's creative path includes groups such as Akaga, Medicus, Ku-Ku band, Project 2000, Tumbaito. He has worked with many foreign and Bulgarian musicians, including Nina Nikolina, Doni and Momchil, Lili Ivanova and others. Latin rhythms have become his trademark, which we also find in his latest track "When I Sing".
"When I sing" was created to remind us of a simple life philosophy," says Kalin Velov. “We must think positively, follow our path, regardless of everything that happens in our lives. A good mood, a smile and positive thoughts are the energy that should drive us forward and help us follow our dreams."
Let's smile, follow our dreams and...sing with Kalin and Maria:
"I sing when things go smooth,
I sing even when things go wrong,
I sing about people like me,
Ве live for this moment.
I hope it's good for you and me!"
