In Radio Bulgaria’s music show today we bring you some of the hottest Bulgarian pop songs based on Latino patterns. We open the show with the duet Kalin Veliov and Nina Nikolina. Veliov is a percussionist who has worked with some leading bands including Akaga and Medicus. Nina Nikolina’s style is a balanced mixture of pop and world music. The twosome will take us to the exotic rhythmic patterns of the Caribbean with a track that reminds of Cuba’s tropical dynamism. Bulgarian singer Yordanka Hristova knows Cuba quite well. The pop star appeared on stage there for the first time 45 years ago. The band was founded by Iskren Petsov back in May 1996. It mostly played covers in the Latino style unlike the rock music that was more popular at that time. Today the Latinopartisani band only seldom gather together on stage. Their front man Iskren Petsov has launched a successful solo career.
