"The mechanism for investigating the prosecutor general will be adopted by the next National Assembly", said Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Justice Krum Zarkov.

"There are not enough MPs of the current National Assembly who are willing to adopt a law introducing a mechanism for investigating the prosecutor general", Minister Zarkov said. In his words, the law was tabled at the earliest possible moment, but the parliament wasted time in "procedural tricks". "I was accused of having exerted pressure. This is absolutely true. I have been pressing as an MP, as a protester, as a minister and I will continue to press until our country becomes a real state under the rule of law, where no one is above the law" , Krum Zarkov said at a briefing.
