The Bulgarian volunteers rescued 31 survivors from the rubble in Turkey

Bulgarian volunteers who went to help in the rescue operations after the earthquakes in Turkey participated in finding and rescuing 31 persons, BTA informs.

Although they were poorly equipped, at their own expense and with funds provided by donors, 47 men and women from the National Association of Volunteers in Bulgaria joined tirelessly in the search for survivors. They expressed their gratitude to all donors, as well as the assistance provided to them in Turkey by local residents and authorities.

The collected donations amount to nearly €41,000, while the expenses reported so far are below €11,000. In all probability, the unspent funds from the donations will be invested in the creation of a rescue module and the purchase of equipment.

The Bulgarian volunteers dream of manning a module with prepared people who will have the equipment to be able to respond to large-scale disasters in Bulgaria and abroad.

The volunteers who went to Turkey are members of Voluntary Formation - Sofia, "Emergency Rescue" - Plovdiv, "Cave Rescue - Plovdiv 112", Voluntary Formation "Mayday", Voluntary Formation - Ruse, as well as a volunteer from Topolovgrad.
