Ukraine denies Russian claims it was involved in drone attacks against Kremlin

Air raid alerts were heard in the night in eastern Ukraine and Kyiv. All Russian missiles and drones aimed at Kiev have been shot down, UNIAN reports. In Odessa, 12 out of 15 drones were shot down. The rest hit student dormitories.

The strikes come after Moscow accused Ukraine of terrorism and an assassination attempt against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Russia showed the destruction of two small drones over the Kremlin. Senior Russian officials have called for the physical elimination of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian President refuted the Kremlin's accusations and said that terrorists are the ones killing Ukrainian civilians. Zelensky recalled the latest Russian shelling in Kherson, where 23 civilians died.

Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said Moscow would respond to the terrorist attack on the Kremlin. He also said that the statements of the officials in Washington on the case are "strikingly cynical and absurd". Previously, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed doubts about the Russian accusations and pointed out that Ukraine can decide how to defend itself, Reuters reported.
