During the summer months, the "Blue Flag" will be seen on a record number of beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast - as many as 22, Stanimir Georgiev, the chairman of the Bulgarian "Blue Flag" movement, told BTA. The Blue Flag is the world’s most recognized award for beaches. It is awarded after meeting a number of quality criteria, including the cleanliness of sea water, as well as safety, services, amenities for tourists, etc.

This year, in addition to the Bulgarian beaches, the prestigious distinction was also awarded to one of Bulgaria’s private marinas. The winners have already been confirmed by the international jury based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
