The chairman of the State Agency for National Security (SANS) Plamen Tonchev announced at his hearing in the parliament today about an established case in which an adviser to the Bulgarian prime minister coordinated the positions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a citizen of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Tonchev did not name either the adviser or the prime minister in question, citing the pre-trial proceedings initiated in the case.

From the rostrum of the parliament, the chairman of the parliamentary group of ITN, Toshko Yordanov, suggested that the information presented by the chairman of SANS refers to Vesela Cherneva, who held the position of adviser to the former prime minister Kiril Petkov. According to Toshko Yordanov, she held talks with representatives of the Republic of North Macedonia "behind the back" of the then Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska from ITN.

During the hearing, Tonchev denied that the leadership of SANS had coordinated any actions with foreign embassies, offices and countries.
