Bulgaria's Prosecutor General has submitted a request to the National Assembly to lift the immunity of a member of parliament with the initials B.B. Several days ago, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office proposed to Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev to approach Parliament to lift the immunity from prosecution of B.B., a former prime minister and MP of the 49th National Assembly.

The only person with these initials who answers the description is GERB leader Boyko Borissov.

According to the Constitution, criminal prosecution against an MP is possible only with the permission of the National Assembly or with the written consent of the MP with initials B.B., the prosecutor's office explained.
