MP Delyan Peevski from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, who was sanctioned under the Global Magnitsky Act, was elected to the parliamentary Constitutional Affairs Committee, replacing Gyuner Ahmed from the same party. "109 MPs voted in favor, 67 MPs voted against and 8 MPs abstained. Peevski's nomination was supported by GERB-SDS, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and "There is Such a People".

The inclusion of Delyan Peevski in the Constitutional Affairs Committee, which is expected to draft the amendments to Bulgaria’s Constitution, caused tension in the plenary hall and the National Assembly speaker announced a  short break. "Vazrazhdane" party did not participate in the vote, although they called Peevski's entry into the committee "a payment for the marriage of convenience with the government of GERB-SDS and We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria."
