Deflation for the first time in an year

The National Statistical Institute reported deflation of 0.1% in May for the first time in a year. Year-on-year inflation was 10.1 per cent. 

Prices were down in four consumer categories - entertainment and culture; transport; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; and communications. 

In food, the prices of peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and eggs have dropped the most. The largest price increases were recorded in alcohol and cigarettes, clothing and footwear, health and education, food and non-alcoholic beverages.
