The most recognizable Bulgarian in the world, our football legend Hristo Stoichkov, got his own monument in the town of Harmanli. It was after good matches for the local team of Hebros that Stoichkov was spotted for the Bulgarian leading team  of CSKA, from where his upward career began.

The monument represents a bronze shoe, more than a meter long, together with a 90-centimeter ball, and behind them is a jersey with number 8 - the one with which Stoichkov also played at the World Cup in 1994 in the USA, when the Bulgarian national team team reached fourth place in the world.

All the teams in which the world-famous football player played are written on the stone including Hebros - Harmanli, CSKA, Barcelona (Spain), Parma (Italy), Al Nasr in Saudi Arabia and Kashiwa Reysol in Japan.‎

‎ "I couldn't hold back my tears! Here at the stadium in Harmanli, I set off on the road! I am grateful to my colleagues, thanks to everyone at Harmanli! The sculpture next to the Hebros stadium is magnificent," Stoichkov shared on the social network.
