The Bulgarian school Ivan Vazov in Preston, the UK, has started publishing a newspaper “Chichovtsi (uncles) – a gallery of Bulgarian characters and mores of the present day”, the school has announced in Facebook.
With this initiative, the school is hoping to motivate more children to read and write in the Bulgarian language. The paper will also develop the children’s teamwork and decision-making skills and will encourage them to seek new knowledge and teach them how to create their own texts. The children from the school have been urged to be reporters and send in their summer adventures which will be published by the newspaper.
