GERB-SDS, We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PD-DB) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) have submitted to the National Assembly a motion to revoke Lukoil's derogation for importing Russian oil. They also demanded the appointment of a special commercial manager in the company.
According to Delyan Dobrev, chairman of the parliamentary Energy Committee, this could happen at the end of October this year, as the text is framed as an amendment to the law on control over the implementation of EU restrictive measures in connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. "That is, the bill will be adopted by the end of September, and the deadline we have set is for the Council of Ministers to withdraw the derogation without conditions within 30 days after the law comes into force," the lawmaker explained.
According to him, the result of the measure will lead to a suspension of funding for Russia. "There is no evidence that the refinery cannot work entirely with non-Russian oil," Delyan Dobrev added.
