The Bulgaria Men’s National Volleyball Team lost 0:3 to France at the round of sixteen of the 2023 Men’s European Volleyball Championships. The match was played in Bulgaria’s coastal city of Varna. Bulgaria took a 2:0 lead in the first set, but in the end, France won a straight-set victory- 25:21; 25:21; 25:15.

"We failed to show our real potential. The truth is that you can't win a round of sixteen against an Olympic champion with a 35% offence" said Plamen Konstantinov, head coach of the Men’s National Volleyball Team. After the game libero Teodor Salparov and settler Georgi Bratoev announced that they had played their last game for the national volleyball team.
