The territorial just transition plans, sent to the European Commission, do not conform with the just transition mechanism, Vice President Iliana Iotova told reporters.
In her words, the mechanism, adopted in 2020, states that in the smooth transition which will be assisted with significant EU funding, not one worker or region shall be abandoned. “In the proposal sent we still cannot see replacement capacities what will guarantee stability and electric energy,” she added.
As regards the motion of no confidence in the government over its energy policy, Vice President Iotova said she believes what is more important is for the state to be able to help the Bulgarian miners and energy workers.
