Bulgarian national volleyball team now stands slim chance of earning an Olympic quota

Photo: bvf.bg

The Bulgarian national volleyball team lost, by 3-0 games (25:21, 25:17, 25:18) to Canada in group C of the Olympic qualifier tournament in Xi'an. The loss of the Bulgarian national team in China almost certainly erases all hope of earning one of two quotas for Paris 2024.

With 3 losses and 2 wins, the Bulgarian players are 6th in their group, reducing their chances of reaching second place down to a minimum.

There are two matches to go until then end of the tournament – in Mexico and in Belgium, which will probably be more important for the world rankings – Bulgaria is currently in 22nd position.
