American author Rory Miller, who has been living in Bulgaria for years, is presenting his book of gastronomical rural adventures in Burgas today. The book, called Na Oko (or The Art of Eyeballing) is a gastronomical travel guide, the initial idea being to visit some far-off villages in Bulgaria, where the author can meet the locals and taste of the traditional Bulgarian food. But what in fact happened was much more than that because Miller discovered the gastronomical secrets in these remote places and also made a lot of new friends.
Rory came to Bulgaria for the first time more than 15 years ago, then left, but came back against – this time for good. The book was translated from the English by Daniela Konstantinova, a one-time member of Radio Bulgaria’s English service. Na Oko will be presented in Varna on 19 October and in Plovdiv on 26 October.
