Voter turnout in local elections

According to data from the Exit poll of the Gallup International Balkan sociological, which is a partner of the BNR for the local vote, the voter turnout at 7 pm in the elections for mayors  in Sofia was 36.0%, in Plovdiv - 33.7%, in Varna – 39.9%, in Blagoevgrad – 55.0%, and in Kardzhali – 39.2%.

The turnout for municipal councilors at the same time in Sofia was 35.3%, in Plovdiv - 32.9%, in Varna - 40.0%, in Blagoevgrad - 54.5%, in Kardzhali - 39.2%.

By 5 pm, voter turnout in Sofia was 28.3 per cent. In Plovdiv, the turnout was 26.4 per cent, in Varna - 32.1 per cent, in Blagoevgrad - 47.8 per cent and in Kardzhali - 35.7 per cent. These are the results of an exit poll conducted by Gallup International Balkan sociological agency, BNR's partner on election day.

At 3 pm, turnout in Sofia was 22.4 per cent. In Plovdiv, the turnout was 20.2 per cent, in Varna 26.2 per cent, in Blagoevgrad 40.2 per cent and in Kardzhali 29.8 per cent. These are the results of an exit poll conducted by Gallup International Balkan, BNR's partner on election day.

Voter turnout at 1 pm was similar to the local elections four years ago, according to the exit poll by Gallup International Balkan. The turnout was 15.7 per cent in Sofia, 14.6 per cent in Plovdiv, 19.2 per cent in Varna, 29.9 per cent in Blagoevgrad and 23 per cent in Kardzhali.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), turnout in the country was 12.3 per cent at 11am. Four years ago at this time the figure was 10.43 per cent. The highest turnout was in the municipality of Bolyarovo - 33.94 per cent, and the lowest - in Plovdiv - 7.25 per cent.

Gallup International Balkan said that turnout at 11 am in Sofia was 7.9 per cent, slightly higher than four years ago; in Plovdiv, 7.7 per cent, the same as in 2019; in Varna, 10.2 per cent; and in Kardzhali, 14.2 per cent, almost the same as in the previous local elections.

According to the agency, turnout at 9 am for the municipal elections was close to the level of four years ago. In Sofia, 1.9 per cent of eligible voters went to the polls, up from 1.8 per cent in the previous municipal elections. In Plovdiv, the turnout was 2%, compared with 1.9% four years ago. In Varna, 3% of the electorate voted, the same as in 2019. In Blagoevgrad and Kardzhali, the previous indicators were repeated, with 6 per cent and 5.5 per cent of those registered to vote, respectively, exercising their right to vote.
