Bulgaria continues to work actively with its neighbours to develop transport, energy and digital connections. In order to strengthen the connectivity between countries, we need to fully build Corridor No. 8, Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov told the 20th Vienna Economic Forum

The European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni, the Prime Ministers of North Macedonia and Kosovo - Dimitar Kovačevski and Albin Kurti, and the Deputy Prime Ministers of Moldova and Montenegro - Dumitru Alaiba and Nik Djeloshai also took part in the event.

Denkov noted that work is being done to connect the main northern Greek ports of Thessaloniki, Kavala and Alexandroupolis with the Bulgarian ports on the Black Sea and the Danube River, as this will help the development of the entire Balkan region, added the prime minister.

The meeting was opened by Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel.

The Vienna Economic Forum was established in 2004 to promote regional cooperation and dialogue between the countries from the Adriatic to the Black Sea.
