The Signal band have been part of the Bulgarian music scene for 45 years and mark this anniversary with a concert entitled "Signal - 45 Years of Rock". On December 7, the legendary Yordan Karadzhov, Alexander Marinovski, Vladimir Zahariev and Georgi Yanakiev will perform together with the Ruse Philharmonic with conductor Dimitar Kosev in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture.
The first line-up of Signal in 1978 included Yordan Karadzhov, Hristo Lambrev, Rumen Spasov and Georgi Kokalanov. In 1979, they released their first album “Vechen Krastopat” (Eternal Crossroads). The first double rock album in the history of Bulgarian music was their “Kaskadyori” (Stuntmen) from 1981. For 45 years, they have had thousands of concerts, many of them outside Bulgaria. The band has released almost 20 albums as more than half of them are studio albums.
When asked how he sees the past 45 years with the group and what they wish for the next 45, Yordan Karadzhov answers:
"They passed like a breath. We exist for 45 years thanks to the audience. And I have always said that I deeply worship the audience - hats off! For the next 45 years, I want to wish our fans a lot of health and to keep us here even longer!"
Speaking about "Signal - 45 Years of Rock" concert on December 7, the band's front-man says:
"We have invited the Ruse Philharmonic with conductor Dimitar Kosev. In addition, we have invited the world-famous folk quartet Nightingale led by Svetla Karadzhova, who is the daughter of the great singer Nadka Karadzhova, to take part in a song from my solo album, which I released on the occasion of my 60th anniversary a dozen years ago. The audience will hear our music in a different way thanks to the support of 45 classical musicians. You know that a classical instrument cannot be compared to other instruments and brings a noble quality and feel to the music. And we are very proud to share the stage with these musicians."
On December 7 the Signal will combine rock energy with classical sound. We will witness a new and very emotional reading of the band’s greatest hits. One of them is "Da te zhaduvam" with music by Georgi Kostov and lyrics by poet Lyubomir Levchev. The arrangement is the band's work.
