Blaga's Lessons is among the proposals for Satellite Film Awards

Days before the announcement of the short list for the Oscar awards, the proposals for the Satellite Awards were announced. Among them is the Bulgarian film Blaga's Lessons. Stefan Komandarev's film will compete for the prize in the international film category along with Fallen Leaves (Finland), Anatomy of a Fall (France), "I, Captain" (Italy), Society of the Snow (Spain), The Teachers' Lounge (Germany) an The Zone of Interest (UK). 

"This is a huge international recognition for us, which makes us extremely happy," commented director Stefan Komandarev.

Satellite are annual awards of the Academy of the International Press. They are awarded for outstanding achievements in the fields of film, television and new media. The winners will be announced on February 18 in Los Angeles.

Blaga's Lessons has already won the Crystal Globe grand prize in Karlovy Vary, and Eli Skorcheva was awarded for best actress. The film also received the Grand Jury Prize at the Rome International Film Festival.

Blaga's Lessons is also Bulgaria's Oscar proposal, and it is expected to be on the short list of nominations.
