Austrian Chamber of Commerce welcomes partial Schengen agreement for Bulgaria

The Austrian Chamber of Commerce, which is the official representative of business abroad, welcomes the partial Schengen agreement. Europe is a strong and stable domestic market, but only if the relevant applicable conditions are met, Philip Kupfer - trade adviser at the Austrian embassy - told BNR.

Kupfer pointed out that the Austrian business sector suffers from the increased customs control at the borders of goods "from" and "for" Austria. "The control is necessary, but let it be carried out quickly and honestly. This is also about the evaluation of Bulgaria as a place for business", urged Kupfer.

A call for a boycott of Austrian shops and gas stations is extremely ineffective, said Tsvetan Simeonov, chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). "We consider all investors as our allies," added Simeonov.
