Bulgarian grain producers call for state aid over war in Ukraine

Bulgaria's Agriculture Minister Kiril Vatev will assist the Bulgarian Agrarian Chamber to hold a meeting with the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister to discuss the problems in agriculture. 
This was announced after a several-hour meeting between Vatev and 10 branch organizations from the chamber. They discussed the demands of the grain producers and the tension in the sector. 

Grain producers want to be included in subsidized aid covering war damage in Ukraine, as well as legal changes on land rents. 

Farmers expect the meeting to take place on Wednesday at the latest to find out what additional financial support they will receive to deal with the consequences of the war in Ukraine. 

"Otherwise, next week we are at the barricades," wrote Simeon Karakolev from the Bulgarian Agrarian Chamber.
