Among 22 projects, the Ministry of Finance chose the symbols with which the campaign for the introduction of the euro in the country will go. The slogan of the campaign is "Unity is strength" and it is inspired by the legend of Khan Kubrat, his sons and a bundle of sticks.

"The slogan is the shortest version of this legend - unity is strength, we become stronger with the single currency," commented the winner of the competition, Georgi Georgiev-Arshata, a student at the National Art Academy.

The logo contains three main elements - the national flag, the euro sign and the euro coin. The national flag is woven into the € sign on a circle symbolizing the euro coin.

The logo and slogan will be used in the materials of all Bulgarian institutions involved in the campaign in all types of communication channels for the period before, during and after the introduction of the common currency in Bulgaria.

"The purpose of the campaign is to inform people and fight misinformation, to answer questions from citizens and business for the adoption of the euro as the national currency," explained Deputy Finance Minister Ivaylo Yajjiev.
