“On the International Holocaust Memorial Day, raising voice for the importance of humanism, we stand firm in the fight against xenophobia and hatred. The rescue of nearly 50 000 Bulgarian Jews in WW2 is a clear example of public energy’s force,” Bulgarian President Rumen Radev posted on X on the day of remembrance of the victims of the genocide against almost 6 million Jews during World War II.

The International Holocaust Remembrance Day was designated by a United Nations General Assembly resolution in 2006.
